Dear Ministry Friend,
Last month Pastor Tim Parish, who is one of our board members sent out a letter to inform you of my husband, Jim Newsom’s passing. Over the past two years, he had been fighting a battle for every breath that he took. He fought long and hard trying to remain here on earth to be able to continue to minister and spread the “Good News” of the gospel. One of his final wishes was for our ministry, Outward Focused to continue, so that more people, especially inmates, could be reached with the gospel. With that in mind, in May Jim and the board of directors appointed me as the new Executive Director of Outward Focused.
As the new director, I will focus on continuing to share the wonderful insights that God revealed to Jim, which he shared with us through his speaking, his book and his posts on Facebook. I will be working on getting all his newsletter articles scanned in and placed on our ministry website. I will also be getting both audios and videos of the messages he shared at churches to load to our website as well. I will continue to mail out a monthly newsletter/e-letter, which I will be republishing former articles of his, and occasionally writing some new ones. I will also be taking his articles and messages, putting them together to publish more of his books. I will continue to send his book(s) into the prison system for free, to reach a segment of our society that gets overlooked too often and which was close to Jim’s heart.
The board of directors and I want to allow Jim’s legacy to live on by continuing to make his messages available for people to read or listen to for years to come. We ask that you please stand with us in this endeavor with your prayer and financial support.
On a personal note, I was blessed to have Jim at my side for a little over 41 years and I couldn’t have asked for a Godlier example and loving husband. I’m thankful that he isn’t suffering any longer and is enjoying his rewards in heaven with his Savior. To say this is a difficult time for me would be a big understatement! I am in the process of moving my stuff into storage and living with our daughter and her family and selling my house. We will then look for a bigger house to buy that will better accommodate all of us, as their current home is too small. Therefor I request your patients and prayers as it may take me a little while to get my feet under me in this new endeavor.

In closing, I want to invite you to join me and my family as we celebrate Jim’s life in a service on Saturday, August 10th at 11 am. It will be held at New Life Church located at 3402 Goose Creek Rd, Louisville, KY 40241.
